Bidwell Park & Chico Creeks Cleanup

Save the Date(s)! The 2020 Cleanup Will Be Held Saturday, Sept. 26th & Sunday, Sept. 27th.

Each year, Butte Environmental Council teams up with the City of Chico, Butte County, and the Great Sierra River Cleanup to organize over 500 community volunteers to remove TONS of trash, recyclables, and hazardous waste from our
creeks and beloved park. This annual event, in its 33rd year, provides the opportunity for Butte County citizens to work together towards a common goals; protecting our shared natural spaces and waterways. Without regular removal of man-made waste and debris, the water quality of local creeks, channels and streams would be greatly impacts, negatively affecting the flora and fauna dependent on these riparian habitats.

Coming together in large numbers to participate in this level of community service has a profoundly positive impact on the personal connection and relationship to our natural spaces and increases our quality of life!

Curious about how much waste BEC has actually removed in 32 years?
