32nd Annual Bidwell Park and Chico Creeks Cleanup

Save the date!

When: On September 21st, 2019 from 9AM - 12:30PM

Where: Hooker Oak Park, check-in begins at 9 AM

Each year, Butte Environmental Council teams up with the City of Chico, Butte County, and the Great Sierra River Cleanup to organize 500 community volunteers to pull TONS of trash and recyclables out of our creeks and beloved park. Trash in our creeks pollutes the water and damages crutial habitat.

We need your help, especially this year following the Nov. Camp Fire, the creeks need us!

Scrounge up your work clothes, grab your boots, water bottle, and your friends to join us for the Cleanup! A post-event Volunteer Appreciation BBQ will be held at Hooker Oak Park. Both events are open to all ages.

How Can You Join Us?

Pre-register either as an individual or a group at one of the following links:
All event participants must sign a safety waiver on the day of; youth under 18 require a parent or guardian's signature. Registering here in advance (especially for teams) helps stream-line check-in.  

Remember to wear sun protection, long pants, and sturdy shoes. Bring gloves and a water bottle. Water stations will be available.

Day of the Cleanup

Pre-registered volunteers arrive at 9:00 AM at Hooker Oak Park to sign event waiver and start the check in process.

Bring your friends and family, work clothes, boots, gloves and reusable water bottles.

After the Cleanup

Join us at Hooker Oak Park after the Cleanup for a Volunteer Appreciation BBQ catered by Madison Bear Garden!

Food, music, and games will be held as a thank-you from us to all of our amazing volunteers.

$5.00     A pair of gloves
$10.00   3 buckets OR a trash grabber
$16.00   $1 for every mile of creek
$32.00   Breakfast for 10 volunteers
$50.00   Sponsor a cleanup TEAM
$75.00   Appreciation lunch for 10 volunteers
$100.00 Coffee for 80 volunteers
$400.00 A 20yd waste bin for the day



How it works:
Follow the link. Donations of $50 or more can reserve an event t-shirt. Pay online with your credit card or checking account and BEC will receive your generous gift. Shirts can be picked up on the day of the event from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Hooker Oak check-in location or make other arrangements by calling (530) 891-6424
