Dig-in for this hands-on Lawn Conversion workshop to conserve water, and create bird habitat.  In Chico, water use goes up 60% in the summertime when we start watering our landscaping, so being mindful of what we plant can add up to huge water savings.

Chico Community Rising Against Fracking

Just say NO to fracking in California at this fun and informative event in Chico.  Live music, a film, and guest speakers will be featured.  A local coalition of environmental groups is coming together to stand against fracking and FOR protecting human health, our local ag economy, clean water, and green energy sources!

Local Environmental Organizations are signing on to a joint comment letter (download here) which addresses serious concerns with the draft California regulations currently being considered by the Department of Conservation.

Josh Fox's follow-up documentary to his hit Gasland about the propaganda & misinformation that the hydraulic fracking industry puts out. He refutes the claims that fracking is clean & safe by the industry.



 Tour Speakers:

  • Doug Shields, former Pittsburgh City Councilmember, featured in The Sky is Pink film
  • Shannon Biggs, of Global Exchange, discussing community rights initiatives
  • Andrew Grinberg of Clean water Action discussing water issues and new proposed CA Fracking Regulations

  • and other local speakers with information about fracking in the north state region.
