Teichert Ponds Cleanup

Join us on May 30th, 2020 to clean the beautiful Teichert Ponds. Link to volunteer below!

Teichert Ponds is Chico's very own wetland and habitat refuge for local wildlife. It is home to heron, geese, ducks and other precocial waterfowl. The ponds also serve as a natural water treatment system for chemical filled runoff before it reaches Little Chico Creek from Highway 99.
This area needs frequent care and maintenance. BEC has been involved in the restoration of Teichert Ponds for many years and it is time we come together again to do some much needed cleaning.
We will have safety and cleanup materials ready for volunteers to use, but here are some things to keep in mind: always wear sturdy and closed toed shoes, bring water and sunscreen as we will be working in the sun, and please only bring children if you can account for their safety as we frequently encounter materials like broken glass and needles. **We will have sharps containers and experienced staff present to lead volunteers safely.
Volunteers meet at 10 AM in the parking lot that allows access to the ponds behind Kohl's: 1505 Springfield Drive, Chico Ca
