Hazardous Materials

Hazardous waste is either toxic, reactive, or flammable.  Placing it in the garbage is a danger to the environment, the garbage hauler, and landfill staff.  By law, all hazardous products must have warning labels so look for the words "caution," "warning," or "poison" on the item in question.

If you see hazardous waste Chico's urban waterways, call 911 or contact the fire department.

If the hazardous waste you observe is not within the City of Chico, please report your concern by using the webform below to report it to Butte County officials.
